Hunting For The Flavors & Texture Of Yesteryears'

fv-090408-haven-delight-13

Since our last review of Haven Delights we have not been back there ever since, but we have heard certain restructuring and changes that were done to the restaurant. Recently the owner of Haven Delights has finally closed down the business unit in Penang Times Square and opened a new restaurant in Gurney Plaza where Ko Fu Loft used to be. The new restaurant is named ‘小南国‘ or directly translated to  ’Little South Country’ after one of a quite well known restaurants in China.

The new restaurant shares some similarity in terms of interior with the Haven Delights. Food wise, after browsing their menu, seems to major in Chinese cuisine with some mixture of other Asian dishes on their ala-carte. They also cater to buffets, bento meal and set meal. May be we might take a chance and try out the restaurant and provide a clearer picture of it can offer and whether would it fit in our list of places to dine in Gurney Plaza.

PENANG TIMES SQUARE is hopeless.,its got to do with its management.,unless they overhaul the management or let it be run by a professional group i cant see how its goin to be a successful mall. After Haven delights shifted out i had seen many others r following too .I had seen that Haven delights do have a good base of customers there esp the weekends n yet they had lost faith n confidence in PTS.

PTS has its own shortcomings and so does Haven Delights. It takes 2 hands to clap. But it is good that you brought this up. For a mall to be successful, it is the foresight and ability to balance profiteering and welfare of its tenants and shoppers.

maybe the tenants know best.As had been seen so far there r many that had closed down n many more following.NIce Day ,Chocolate n the clothes shops r hardly opened.Heard that the management r giving potential tenants 6 mths free rental still hardly anyone is taking up the offer.Maybe the managements had let down the tenants by giving empty promises so far.Eeryone wants PTS to succeed for the good of Penang ,anyway its my 2 cents thought as im not the tenant n also the management so i cant say what i said is right.

As I have said it take two hand s to clap. If the food and service is exceptional, then why can it survive? Yes the PTS Management is in array and have begun the project on the wrong footing, but then it is the choice of any business owner to setup business there in the first place. We are not wealthy people who have tones of money to spend, thus I would have studied the place, its management’s capability and capacity and market demographics before we decide to commit. Blaming won’t solve any problem, one would have look back on the short falls and rectify it before making the same mistake.

Choosing the current Gurney Plaza location may not be a sound choice either, but before we make any conclusion we must first try what can they dish out at the new restaurant.

what a pity at PTS.Used to patronise there a few times but its disheartening seeing one by one of the shops wrapping up.Its a new mall but now its looks old n deserted from a shoppers point of view. The evnts held there also has no response from the public.Maybe there s alos no entertainment like a cineplex or some other outrlets like a KTV center.or others.

Right to a certain extend, but there is still hope and all comes down to the Marketing and Business plan.
